We’re excited to share our Epilepsy Awareness Bars 💜
Created for Purple Day to help spread awareness and make an impact. Purple day give us and other families the opportunity to spread awareness about something that deeply affects us and our homes. Epilepsy is something that is very personal for us here at The Lacto Bar and we wanted to create a soap bar to give back to our community. With every purchase we are donating 10% to the Danny Did Foundation. Another benefit to donating to our cause is that every donation you make you will receive one of our limited edition Epilepsy Awareness Packages:
Small Package: (3) Mini Epilepsy Awareness Soaps
Large Package: (1) Full Size Epilepsy Awareness Soap Bar, (1) Mini Brain Soap, and (1) Purple Butterfly Soap
All our soaps are hand crafted with natural, non toxic ingredients and made using goat milk and tallow. All our bars are naturally scented with Lavender Essential Oil.
Symbolism to note in these soaps:
The Color Purple: Purple is the international color for epilepsy awareness. Purple represents visibility, solidarity and hope
Lavender Essential Oil: Lavender is the international flower of epilepsy and represents the feelings of loneliness or isolation that people living with epilepsy can face.
Butterfly: The butterfly, often purple, signifies the journey of overcoming challenges, similar to a butterfly emerging from a cocoon, while offering support for those battling seizures
Brain: Epilepsy is a neurological condition that causes excessive electrical discharges in the brain resulting in seizures.
Alana's Story:
At 6 months old, Alana was diagnosed with epilepsy. Alana has GEFS+ on the border for Dravet Syndrome. Over the last 18 months, Alana has had numerous episodes ranging from absent seizures to multiple grand mal seizures to a variety of other types. She has had endless 911 calls, hospital stays, testing, medication adjustments, and episodes, Sadly it’s got to the point we’ve lost track.
She is our fighter and we will continue to fight for her always. We are spreading awareness for epilepsy in honor of Alana. We created this donation which will help us cover hefty medical bills but to also donate back to the epilepsy community. We encourage every one to research and learn more about epilepsy and seizures. You might just help save someone's life.
